Avoid Stress for Perfect Complexion

Stress is seemingly the universal factor that is to blame for all our troubles. Although it sounds like a cliche, it actually isn’t. From the inside to the outside, our mind and body are affected by frustration, fear, anxiety. Wondering why your skin is constantly breaking out? Or why all of a sudden you seem to have more wrinkle inhabitants that you had before? It just might be stress. But how does this work?
It’s not magic or something inexplicable. First of all, think about what you usually do when you’re under pressure to finish something, or when you’re simply feeling anxious. You pick your skin, pop your pimples, or touch your face without thinking whether your hands are clean or not. These little gestures that we tend to do when we’re stressed, and that are closely tied to these frustrating situations can cause scarring and breakouts.
Besides unconsciously developing habits that are detrimental to the health of our skin, when you’re stressed out, your hormones will usually go wild, creating skin breakouts and flare-ups that seem to pop out of nowhere, and that make your confidence take a huge hit. Although you might be stressed out and getting break outs, it’s also highly likely that you have breakouts because you’re stressing out over them. It’s closely connected, even more than we think of. And although we can’t avoid stress and anxiety from time to time, it’s time to learn how to minimise or control it.
If you have eczema or psoriasis and you can’t control it, or it seems to get worse for no specific reason, it just might be anxiety or stress. In essence, no matter what kind of skin condition you’re dealing with, whether it’s something common like dry skin, or rosacea, stress is something you need to avoid.
When you lie awake at night, haunted by the things you didn’t do, or you should do, and you can’t fall asleep, think of your skin and well being. Your skin cells and your brain recharges its battery during night, which is why it's crucial to get enough and regular sleep, so that your skin doesn’t suffer. Take stress seriously, and give your skin a break. Every time you raise your voice, feel sad or anxious, think about your skin. Include stress-free moments in your perfect skin care routine, and you’ll see a large improvement through time.
